PERSONAL STORY: KIM THOMPSON

I have had endo for 6 years that I started having the pain. In 2 years I have had 8 surgerys and also I had a hyst.

I just had a lap 4 weeks ago. There was still endo. I take hormones and also Synarel I am not sure if it is working. The doctor thought that my pain was from scar tissue. But he said that there was still endo. We are not sure where it is coming from. I am just trying to deal with it right now I feel okay I get a little sore every once in a while but not bad.

The doctor told me that they got all of the endo and scar tissue. They just took my uterus and then five months later I was having severe pain and they had to do a lap it was so bad that they had to do cut my stomach like a C- Section. The endo had grown and attached itself all over my organs and they had to call in a general surgeon to cut away from my organs.

I have 4 girls so God has blessed me with children and I am very lucky to have them. When I had the hyst before I was worried that my husband would think that I wasn't a woman. He reassured me and I felt relief thinking that this was going to cure it. After they removed my ovary. I felt like a teenager for a few months and I have had 5 laps since then. My side is still bothering me and my lower back has been bothering for 2 years and I had a MRI done and it said that there was a small amount of arthritis but I wonder if there is Endo I don't understand how it can still come back when I don't have a uterus.

I am hoping to go to the Endo clinic in Atlanta. I am waiting to see if this surgery will really work or not I had it done 5 weeks ago. I am also taking Synarl,Premarin, and Medroxyprogeste. I hope this helps I am sorry that it is kind of long. Oh my mom and a hyst also and we found out it was because of Endo. I just hope that my girls don't get it.

I wish everyone luck and I am praying for everyone. God is the only thing that can get us through this.
