PERSONAL STORY: JOSE RILEY2.5 Million Ladies in the UK suffer with Endometriosis We are all a statistic on somebody's list. I am one, one of 2.5 million ladies in the UK who are confirmed sufferers of Endometriosis. It is estimated that at least as many more ladies are undiagnosed sufferers of this problem. I was diagnosed 12 years ago and had various symptoms for 15 years prior to this. They began with dull, draining pains in the head, slight water retention in the hands, feet and breasts and discomfort of bloating, some pain in the stomach and back, particularly prior to and at the time of a period. The head pains increased to be best described as a stiletto knife plunged into the skull and then very slightly turned to give pain to bring one to a standstill. The water retention problem increased. The pain in the stomach and back became severe. The total effect on me was debilitation for 3 or 4 days a month with times when I could not stand up straight. After a laparoscopy, I was put on a 6-month course of Danol. I was up and running at life again but grew very fat because of the steroid in the drug. It was withdrawn. All the symptoms gradually returned with a vengance. I now had 3 to 4 days a month in bed, hot water bottles for the stomach and back and very severe head pains. I was taking paracetamol as though they were going out of fashion, but do not know if they really helped. Eventually, I crept back to the doctors to investigate if they could help me. More tablets. After taking two in a period of a week, as prescribed, I was suicidal. I was offered an hysterectomy. I did not have the problem I was told this would resolve so chose not to have the operation. Almost five years ago, I accidentally came across my Aloe Vera. I knew very little about this remarkable plant at the time. I was investigating a business opportunity as an animal Aloe distributor. After a good chat with Malcolm, I inquired if humans could take it. Looking a picture of health, he told me his reason for it being a part of his daily routine. So, with my Endo in mind and the reasoning that if it only helped me a little, I could tell the truth of my story to others, I apprehensively bought my first bottle. Help. It has changed my life. I am now in generally better health than I have been for years. The Endo seldom troubles me. When this occurs, I have been complacent and missed a few regular doses of Aloe. The symptoms are slight. I quickly get back on course taking a little extra for a couple of days. Over the years I have established without doubt that stress, pressure and worry of work and day to day matters aggravate the Endo, in my case. I take no drugs and have had no further operations. I must state that a 25% improvement is something to be cautious about. Not only has the quality of my general wellbeing improved but my hair, nails, skin, suppleness, sleep patterns, energy levels and body scaring have all benefited. I have met ladies who have tried Aloe juice for this condition but it has had no effect. Without exception, they have not used the brand I use.
