PERSONAL STORY: JANIE CAMPBELL

I had surgery in the fall of 1992 for endometriosis, had a cyst as large as an orange on my left ovary. Ever since then I haven't been "the same". I get hot when I do the slightest physical activity, my face is red and sometimes rashy. I started to lose my hair about 3 years ago and have insomnia, fluid retention, and sugar cravings. My doctor has treated me for Wilson Syndrome. We've checked my adrenal glands, tested my insulin, hormones etc. and every thing comes back "normal", but I know it's not normal. So now we're looking into PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).

I'm 36, never married, never had kids, always had heavy periods and was pretty irregular in my teens. I have been on and off birth control pills for most of my adult life. I'm tired of just not being "well" I also have had a hard time losing weight and my eyes are so dry I can't wear my contacts.
